Healthcare Screening Ireland offer a wide range of health screening tests, including a full cholesterol profile, diabetes, celiac testing, lung function, urinalysis, blood pressure, flu vaccination and BMI. A comprehensive health report will be provided at the time of consultation and will be reviewed by a company doctor all with the aim of giving your staff and company an overall health check. To date Healthcare Screening Ireland has provided health screening for thousands of employees in many well known companies, including Tesco, PepsiCo, Keelings Group, Merrion Fleet and Bray Wanderers FC, to name a few.
So how is Healthcare Screening Ireland set apart from all the rest? Managing director Sean McGeown answers that very simply: “Aside from some specific
cardiac tests that only we do, Healthcare Screening Ireland is the only company that provides immediate test results at the end of the 45-minute consultation. This means we can identify potential health issues and make immediate referrals for further investigation.” He continues: “It can be a real relief to clients to receive and discuss all their results there and then, as opposed to weeks later in a follow-up consultation; or worse, receive the results via post. It’s also a big benefit that employers do not have to block book a second date for a follow-up consultation.” All Health Screening tests are conducted by qualified registered general nurses at your offices or place of work and mobile stations are available if space is limited. On completion, Healthcare Screening Ireland will provide a comprehensive, confidential employee health report to your company. A high level of expertise is made available at your premises, in order to meet the needs of our corporate clients and their employees, with as little disruption to the working day as possible. Healthcare Screening Ireland provides a wide range of services to companies, organisations and sports clubs throughout Ireland.
THE 45-MINUTE TEST
INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING:
• 10-year cardiovascular risk assessment:
A collation of all blood and tests results gives an actual per cent risk score of a heart attack or cardiac event occurring in the coming 10 years.
• Ultrasound scan of carotid arteries:
A simple test using a handheld device that runs along the side of the neck to check for any fatty plaque build-up that can lead to heart attack or stroke.
• Ankle brachial index:
This is the ratio of the blood pressure in the lower legs to the blood pressure in the arms. Compared to the arm, lower blood pressure in the leg can be an indication of blocked arteries.
• 12-lead resting ECG:
Leads placed on the participant’s chest will measure the electrical currents in the heart and can detect if there are any interference or defects.
• Full cholesterol profile:
A simple blood test to give a breakdown of all of the good and bad fats within the total cholesterol.
• Diabetes screen:
Glucose is a fasting blood sample to determine blood sugar levels at that particular time. HbA1c does not need to be fasting and is thought to be a more
reliable method of detecting diabetes.
• High-sensitivity C-reactive protein:
A simple blood test to determine the participants’ risk of a heart attack/stroke.
• Blood pressure:
A three-minute check to tell if blood pressure is high and what steps need to taken.
• BMI measurements:
This height-to-weight calculation determines if the participant has a healthy ratio.
• Comprehensive health report:
Will be presented to and discussed with each participant during his or her consultation.
• Review and sign-off by consultant cardiologist:
All test results are sent for review by our consultant cardiologist who in turn reverts back with referral or lifestyle advice for each participant.
