In accordance with The Guide to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations 2007 employers must adhere to the guidelines in relation to Display Screen Equipment. In effect, these provisions relate to the safety and health requirements for employees who habitually use display screen equipment (VDUs) as a significant part of their normal work. Every employee who habitually uses a VDU as a significant part of normal work should have a regular eye tests which must be made available by the employer.
What to expect
For our eyes sight tests our instrument screens for 18 different vision functions. Each test takes 3-5 minutes to administer and the results are recorded automatically. The test is similar to a standard eye test where it is assessed what the person can see by looking into the instrument and identifying different visual images.
