The European Society of Cardiology (ESC 2005) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommends Cardiac Screening for any person taking part in competitive sport.
While the GAA advise that the most effective way to identify cardiac risk is for players over the age of 14 to undergo cardiac screening on one occasion. It is also advised that this process be repeated before the age of 25.
The International Rugby Board (IRB) also recommends Cardiac Screening for all players between ages 14 and 35 who participate in a regular Rugby competition or a structured Tournament.

Our state of the art 12 lead ECG instrument will highlight any abnormalities. This is done through its on-board algorithm, which uses both age and gender specific criteria to aid in interpretation of results.
After your Cardiac Screen has been carried out by our Health Screening Doctor and Registered Nurse, your results will be uploaded and immediately electronically transmitted to our Consultant Cardiologist for review and sign off.
In the event of any abnormal Cardiac result you may be referred to the local Accident and Emergency department for further investigation.
